- The BHD banknotes have denominations of 0.5, 1, 5, 10, and 20 dinar
- Coins are available in denominations of 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 fils.

Currency Exchange and Credit Cards
While the Bahraini Dinar (BHD) is the official currency, many businesses accept Saudi Riyals (SAR).
Currency Exchange
- Airport Exchange: Upon arrival at Bahrain International Airport, you'll find currency exchange counters where you can exchange your foreign currency for Bahraini Dinars.
- City Exchange Bureaus: Numerous exchange bureaus are located throughout major cities like Manama and Riffa. These offer competitive rates and convenient services.
- Bank Branches: Local banks also provide currency exchange services, often with competitive rates.
Credit Cards
Major credit cards, such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, are widely accepted in Bahrain. You can use them at ATMs, shopping malls, restaurants, and hotels. However, it's always a good idea to carry some cash for smaller transactions, especially in local markets or smaller shops.
